Oh no! I've had that trouble, too, and it's usually with colors like the one you have above. I've learned my lesson to stick with blues, violets, and reds if I'm not 100% sure about the photo. Knit Picks' webiste can be quite bad about colors, too.

I've just had this issue. The yarn in the photo was a fantastic colorway from an ecru color to varying shades of purple, and from what the picture indicated a light shade of pink. It was called Blood Orange, and I had never had a blood orange before so I don't know the colors from which it was inspired by.
So I receive it in the mail and it's ecru, pretty shades of purple, and in-your-face!-Orange.
This PEBEM experience was probably because she used a BRIGHT yellow background to photograph, though the picture was well photographed.

Looking back, if I look really hard I can see the orange tint, but I shouldn't have to look that hard :/

But I'm confident I'll get a great pair of socks out of them. I don't like orange but we'll see :]

That happened to me once. Very early on when she was selling yarn through her typepad account. It didn't matter since I liked it and it was sock yarn. But I did send her a pic I took just to compare the difference. But seriously, monitors do vary so much.

That picture shows a gold and rust yarn on my monitor. No green at all.

I have had several disastrous experiences with yarn that looked nothing like the color/s on my monitor. I use Firefox, so maybe that's part of the problem.

Wow´╝îgreat content and your blog template is so beautiful. Is this template free or not. If so, would you please share this template? if not, how much does it cost? Thanks a lot!

Thanks, but it's nothing special -- just one of the standard Typepad templates!
